Schlupfhuus

The Schlupfhuus provides a telephone help line, an advice centre and a short term residential shelter for children in crisis. Founded in Zürich in 1980, it is an independent association, with no religious or political ties, which provides a free service, day and night, for children between the ages of 13 and 18.

The staff at the Schlupfhuus provide support to youngsters who turn to them often as a result of problems at school, in their relationships or with employment. Drug addiction may also be an issue.

Youngsters as well as their parents are offered discussion and guidance and in extreme cases accommodation is provided to children in order to relieve the pressure on them and their surroundings.
